Dear Elysia,

Thank you to everyone who has already paid their annual membership fees. As a reminder, payment can be made upfront or in half yearly or monthly instalments. If you wish to pay in instalments, please contact the admin office by Thursday 29th February to set up payment. Alternatively, if you wish to explore a change in membership categories, please ensure you contact us in advance of Friday 29th March for advice, as all change requests must be received in writing by Sunday 31st March to be considered for the 2024/2025 membership year.

Duard and the pro shop team have been hard at work. In addition to the equipment releases and fitting days mentioned in past weeks, new ranges have dropped in store including Big Dog leather headcovers, G/Fore footwear and Bondi bucket hats. Pictures and more information on these products are included later in this newsletter, in the pro shop news section.

We expect the next two weeks to be busy as we reach the end of another membership year.

For those of you planning to dine at the Club over the coming weeks, please contact our staff to make a booking. If you are bringing guests, please advise them of our dress regulations and personal electronic device policy. Your assistance with these matters will ensure a seamless experience for you and your guests.

Most of all, please be patient with our staff as we strive to deliver our same excellent level of service through this busy time.

As always, if you have any questions or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me, mark@royaladelaidegolf.com.au.

Happy golfing,

Mark Tan

TITLEIST SM10 VOKEY WEDGES

Titleist?s new Vokey Design SM10 wedges are engineered to produce a lower, more controlled flight with improved feel and maximum spin ? advancing the performance of the game?s most played wedges through an unrelenting focus on Master Craftsman Bob Vokey?s three keys to great wedge play; shot versatility, precise distance and trajectory control and spin.

?I always tell players that the most important club in the bag is confidence,? Vokey said. ?Getting fit for each of your wedges and learning how to use them in different situations is one of the fastest ways to gain confidence around the green.?

For members' convenience, demo wedges are available in the pro shop. Speak to the team to arrange a wedge fitting experience.

NEWLY RELEASED DEMO EQUIPMENT
Newly released drivers, fairway woods, irons and hybrid clubs have arrived at Royal Adelaide. TaylorMade, Callaway have introduced new drivers, fairways, hybrids, and irons. Ping has added an additional 10K driver to their exceptional line up, described as ?their most forgiving driver ever?. Demo clubs are now available for use from the Pro Shop. Speak to the pro shop team to arrange a fitting or to assist you in selecting the appropriate club and shaft combination for a hit on-course or on the practice fairway.
DEMO VS FITTING?
Club golfers today are fortunate to be able to demo the latest technology offered by the leading equipment brands on their own golf course. Adjustable lofts and lie angles, combined with interchangeable shafts to suit a variety of clubheads are on offer to suit nearly all golfers. Royal Adelaide members have access to complete fitting kits from major leading brands, Titleist, Ping, Callaway and TaylorMade, a considerable annual investment by the Club for members? convenience. The demo equipment is available to members at any time. The pro shop team are always happy to assist in ensuring a near match club with suitable shaft.

When is a good time to book a fitting or attend a supplier fitting event?
Ten years ago, suppliers would visit clubs and offer an opportunity for members to trial the latest equipment. Today, since clubs offer a full range of demo equipment in the pro shop, the intention of a fitting event has changed. Fitting events offer an opportunity for members to book a specialised fitting experience with the South Australian representative or a specialised fitter.

Following the use of demo equipment and deciding that a new club is the way forward, it is time to contact the pro shop team to arrange a fitting or book into an upcoming fitting event.

RULE OF THE WEEK

TONY NEWMAN'S RULE OF THE WEEK

My ball moved as I took my swing: This happened in the general area (i.e. not in the teeing area, a bunker, penalty area or the putting green). I started my backswing. As I did my ball moved. There is no doubt that I caused it to move. I wasn't able to stop my swing and proceed to play my shot and hit the ball.

I know that I incur a penalty for causing the ball to move, but is there any additional penalty for not replacing it?
