Dear Elysia,
Hot off the press ? the 2024/2025 Handbooks have arrived! Drop by the office to collect one when you are next at the Club.
It gives me great pride to announce the managers of our Pennant teams for 2024. Congratulations to the following Managers and Assistant Managers: Vicki Jordan and Anne Arnfield (Sanderson Cup); Rod Phillips and Paul Reader (Simpson Cup); Jill McEwin and Ali White (Pike Cup); Ian Rice and Randall Faull (Bonnar Cup); Janice Fletcher and Di Faull (Women's A3); Louise Walters (Cleek); Anna Waterman (Hickory); and Rob Manton (Senior Interclub).
We have some works scheduled for next week: tree maintenance on the 3rd and installation of a fence along Tapleys Hill Road.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, arborists will attend to trees on the 3rd. While works take place the 3rd hole will be out of play, instead playing hole 17A. The 4th will be played from the green tees while the 3rd is out of play, allowing members to leave their clubs on the right side of the 2nd green.
From Tuesday to Friday, contractors will be on site to erect fencing for the purpose of road noise reduction at the undercover teaching facility. The fence will be dug into the ground to further dampen the noise.
As you may be aware, we have been experiencing some technical difficulties with emails over the past few weeks. TONY NEWMAN'S RULE OF THE WEEK
Incorrect score in a par round
I recently heard of a situation where a player had a gross score recorded that was lower than their actual score for a hole in a par round. For example, a player who gets a stroke on a par 4 would get a + if they scored 4. If they got 4, but has less recorded as their score, they would still only get a +, but would have recorded an incorrect and lower score.
Is there any penalty?
