It is with great sadness that I advise you of Robin Neumann's retirement. Robin has been a part of the fabric at Royal Adelaide for almost 20 years ? and will achieve the milestone before his retirement. All members are invited to Robin's farewell in early April. Please see the details below.
We will advertise for the Caretaker position shortly to ensure the clubhouse continues to be maintained to the excellent standard we all enjoy.
As we get closer to the 10th hole re-opening, I would like to thank Nathan Bennett and the course team, and Chris Crocker and the golf operations team. They have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure we are ready for competition golf as soon as possible. Please see below for updated course ratings as a result of the works.
I am excited to announce that James Hampel will return to Royal Adelaide as our Membership, Marketing and Communications Manager, commencing on Monday 26th February. James previously held the position of Golf Operations Manager. Our internal systems have changed since James was last here, so please be patient with him as he learns the new system at a very busy time in the membership department.
This will be my last Seaton Update for several weeks, as I am very privileged to be attending the Club Management Association of America World Conference in Las Vegas with the support of Golf Management Australia and Royal Adelaide. While in the United States, I will visit several beach, city and country clubs including the Los Angeles CC, Bel-Air CC, Wiltshire CC and the Beach Club in Santa Monica.
In my absence, Chris Crocker will be Acting General Manager. Please reach out to Chris with any questions or feedback at chris@royaladelaidegolf.com.au.
All the best,
Mark Tan General Manager

Are you allowed to have the flagstick attended?
I know that you are now allowed to either leave the flagstick in the hole or have it removed when you putt and there is no penalty if you hit the flagstick in the hole, but are you still allowed to have it attended and is there still a penalty (or 2) if you hit an attended flagstick?
