Dear Elysia,
What a day it was on Tuesday for the Women's Opening Day. Despite the heat, over 140 women donned 'a touch of pink' for the cross country Ambrose event. We witnessed two great feats, a hole in one on Hole O (left side of 15th fairway to 16th green) by Sue Barry and an incredible net 19.75 on the cross country Thomson course by Di Moore, Vicki Jordan, Ingrid Coats and Mary Sutherland.
Thank you to our Patron, Her Excellency, The Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia for participating in the day and presenting the trophies, and congratulations on her runner up result.
Thanks also to the cross country mastermind, Paul Stuchbery, and our staff for bringing the event together.
On Saturday, we have a bumper field for the Members' Opening Day, one of the largest in some years. I look forward to tomorrow and hope to see some more feats of brilliance to kickstart the golfing year.
This week the Committee was pleased that Vicki Thwaites accepted its invitation to join the Member Services, Marketing and Communications Sub-Committee. Vicki is a longstanding member with a great love of the Club. She replaces Paula Botten who was a member of the Sub-Committee for many years until late last year. Please note that due to security concerns, the breezeway doors will be locked from 6.00pm daily. Members will be able to access the breezeway by holding their fob against the reader, and leave by pressing the green buttons near the doors. In Mark's absence, please reach out to me with any questions or feedback at chris@royaladelaidegolf.com.au.
Hit them well,
Chris Crocker Acting General Manager

TONY NEWMAN'S RULE OF THE WEEK
Can I move it?
I recently played my ball to a position within the sandy waste on the left of the 4th. It came to rest sort of under half of a dead bird. Unfortunately I couldn't remove the partial carcass without my ball moving so I played my shot. Unfortunately the bird went further than my ball.
Did I have to play it or could I have removed the carcass?
